Cameron Shakespear, GIS Analyst
Cameron supports green infrastructure planning in the GIC by performing spatial analyses and mapping land cover. He is working with multiple cities across the United States to support urban and rural conservation plans. With a passion for both environmental conservation and cutting-edge technology, he is excited to be at the forefront of ecological services analysis and modeling.
Cameron earned a B.S. in Human-Environment Geography and a certificate in GIS and Spatial Analysis from Utah State University. During college, he worked as a GIS Technician researching the impacts of land grants in the western US and worked for city governments. He also worked for the National Park Service, where he mapped cultural resources and produced a study on the potential impacts of climate change and sea level rise on the park’s archeological resources. With a background in natural hazards, he is very passionate about applying green infrastructure to reduce urban flooding and mitigate extreme heat events.
In his free time, Cameron enjoys spending time with his wife, caring for his houseplants, and reading about anything from entomology to quantum computing.
