Kentrell Richardson, GIS Technician
Kentrell assists in mapping communities’ green infrastructure to help them create conservation plans. He utilizes GIC’s methods that combine his knowledge of spatial analyses, land cover, and remote sensing technologies. Kentrell has a deep love for learning the latest technology to better understand the natural world around him to improve environmental conservation.
With a background in Natural Resources, Kentrell is passionate about effectively applying green infrastructure methods in both urban and rural settings and improving public knowledge of green infrastructure and its benefits for wildlife and people. Kentrell earned a B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife with an emphasis in Wildlife Science from the University of Georgia and a M.S in Biology from James Madison University (JMU). While at JMU, Kentrell researched the impacts of environmental factors on high-alpine amphibian species to understand how these animals might respond to climate change. During his graduate studies, Kentrell gained numerous ESRI course certificates, taking his first step toward a career in GIS.
In his free time, Kentrell enjoys playing video games, Dungeons and Dragons, and improving his art skills through various mediums including spray paint, and acrylic, among others.
